Thinking that a quick mount to attach my Condor to the table rather than a vise might work better? Bad or Good idea?
Also can anyone point me towards a lift that has 2-piece per side (split) extensions? For sleds leave the front ski sections on and remove the rears for better access to track and suspension work.
Not ever lifting over a 1000 lbs but wondering if the 1500lb versions are overall much sturdier?
The lifts with a dove tail would make loading easier but look like they would be in the way while in use. It would be easy enough to build a separate approach , Bad or Good idea?
Thinking about it.....it wouldn't be too difficult to split and support a single extension if desired.

Thanks
The HMC extensions are 2-piece per side. Don't know if they did it this way for the scenario you are describing or if it was more a weight/ease of use but either way you're covered. I am going to try and weld up my own 2/side extensions, once my table arrives, just because I want to, but if they don't turn out I will be buying them.

I too have a K&L lift and really like it....

It has spilt side extensions (two-piece per side) and you can use any combo of the extensions from 0-4 of the pieces on the lift at any given time. When I was working on my front tire/forks, I removed both front extension pieces so I could stand closer to the forks.

My K&L lift is an MC625 (pneumatic) lift rated for 1750lbs... it's solid as a rock, even with my 900+lb bagger on it... I decided against the 1000lb lifts, I wanted a 1500lb plus model because with the bagger, I would be within 50..ish pounds of the lift's max capacity. I wanted a bit of a fudge factor, knowing that sometimes (like with primary work) I'd really be torquing, twisting, and/or pounding on the bike when lifted.

I used a yellow arrow in this pic to show where the two side extension pieces separate. Each extension is basically half the length of the table...

The HMC is designed exactly for what you are talking about with the two piece side extensions. Makes them easier to work on so you're not bending over the part of the extension that you aren't using.

Also, The condor will bolt right up. The HMC lift is predrilled for condor chock or for a cycle vise. I use the condor my on mine and you can still do front end service no problem. I have the 24x82 lift, but the bigger 60x90 uses the two piece side extensions.

I have a Handy BOB 1500 and I have never used the side extensions. The guy I bought the lift off of had the side extensions, front extension and trike ramp. With all the extensions on the thing is huge and it is more than a one person job to put the side extensions on and off.

I purchased my lift from: https://www.cemlifts.com/ They ship out of Post Falls, Idaho. Shipping to me was less than $150.00. You're a bit farther in Colorado but, it might be worth giving them a call.

I have this same lift. Had several narrow style which worked fine for me when I just worked on bikes only. Then wife wanted a Tri-glide and my lift wouldn't get her in the air with all that 1200 lb of fatness. The Trike not the wife. HAHAHAHA
When i had the narrow lifts i would start the bike if possible and walk it onto the lift using the clutch and bike in first gear. With extensions I just ride them right up onto lift. Being tall I don't really use the wheel clamp anymore. I keep the scissor jack off to side of extension. I ride up, shut bike down in gear, reach over and grab scissor jack and slide under bike while holding it upright with my legs. Then snug jack up under bike frame and carefully (checking that it's sturdy) and then tighten jack to desired height., etc. Done it this way for years. Never an Issue. I am a big guy though so long arms help, I can also work with extensions in place without any issues. Good Luck on the search.
