If you are going to use Rinehart's and want duals, just use their full true dual system. It's matched to work together. I've had it on my 2008 RKC since it was new and 133,000 miles later, still love it. Good bark when you twist the throttle and a mellow tone at speed. The right cam negates any loss of low end torque ( which is very minor anyway ) in the duals. Link for reference. I'm sure you can find them cheaper.
I have an S&S chrome dual system I picked up cheap an now I don't plan on using it....it's for 2008 down but doesn't come with hardware/mounts...I'd like my $75 back for it.
I purchased a used 2008 Road King FLHR and it came with the V&H two into one. I am not a big fan of single exhaust on my Road King.
I want to put dual exhaust on it. They do not make an x pipe for the 2008 and down. The S&S power tune dual headers is the closest I can find. (2 into 1 into 2) I am undecided on mufflers, but am leaning towards Rinehart.
Does or has anyone run this S&S header? Thoughts?
(I know my bike will need to be re-tuned)
Thanks
I'm running the exact same setup on my '08 RK,and am very happy with it. The additional advantage is it moves the rear cylinder exhaust pipe away from your passenger.
The SnS power tune header is not made by SnS. It;s made by Khromewerks. It's a good header. I've used one on a 07 EGC and it's now on a 02 RKC, They give a nice flat power band with slightly less peak HP compared to the VnH power duel head pipe. 2-1-2 pipe is definitely the way to go if you want quiet power as the mufflers are shared.
