I am currently riding a BMW R1200RT. I am tempted to buy a Roadglide and love the looks and ride except the buffeting on my full face helmet with the standard windscreen. I have also tried one with a short windscreen. My question has anyone tired the 3+ plus windscreen and does it reduce the buffeting? That is about it on keeping me from pulling the trigger. The BMW's have adjustable windscreen and you kind of get spoiled. Thanks ahead of time.
Look at the clearview windshield. They have a curled top to push air up and over. I am going to order one soon, but the have about an 8 week turnaround from what i can tell.
I don't think you'll be able to eliminate any wind buffering on any bike without wearing a full-face helmet. The windshield will only protect you from the front. It will not help you with wind gust or cross wind. I also agree with a Clearview shield, that it would help reduce the buffering over a stock one Good choice on the Road Glide nonetheless. It's a great bike!

I'm just under 6' and the top of the stock windshield of my '07 RoadGlide was directly in my line of sight and the buffeting was pretty bad at 75mph or higher. It also has a slight curve at the top which distortedmy view so I scrapped it and put on the taller 3+ plus.
What a difference. Almost no buffeting at all and I have had it up to 105mph. I'm going to pick up a shorty windshield for around town, but the tall windshield is excellent for touring.

The Clearview shield works great, but be aware that it's significantly wider than the stock windshield. I put new bars (stock wide glide bars) on my RG because my hands were going numb and the mirrors hit the clearview to such a degree that I had to go back to the stock windshield.
If Clearview made a stock width +3 I would be a happy camper.....
PS: for what it's worth...Clearview will "fit" you to the right windshield height if you give them your height and inseam measurements. You might not need a +3.
I am also just under 6' tall and it seems to be just hitting right at the top of the helmet. Actually I think I tried my open face and I got the same buffeting. I don't want to be a pain and ask them to switch winsdscreens before I test the bike. The dealer is a friend a mine but I don't want to push it.

Did you go with the Clearview or something else?
I went with the HD model. I haven't researched the Clearview yet.
