Different tank for my Bagger
Hello all,
I recently bought a 90 Electra Glide that the previous owner tried to make into a Road King. They swapped the front end with a late model King, and left the full wiring harness tucked in the headlight nacelle. I love the way it looks, the only problem is the speedometer they used is a tiny 2" handlebar mounted setup. I'd like to find a tank so I can mount the speedometer in the dash and also gain a fuel gauge again, but I'm having a hard time finding a use non-EFI Road King tank. Would a Dyna, FXR or Softail tank fit an FLH? I really haven't found any discussion of this online, that's why I'm posting here.
If I can't find a new tank, I think I'll try and find a tach mount for the handlebar cover, and fit a speedometer in there. I'm just not sure about the speedometer cable, I'm afraid it'll interfere with the quick detach.

If I Remember right, you can use an EFI road king tank and someone makes plugs to fill in the extra hole. Seems people were doing this when they were removing the EFI to go back to carbs. Good luck!
