OK,
So I recently returned from a deployment, found the bike was on a battery tender......but it wasn't plugged in. Got a new battery, now it's asking for my PIN. Issue is, I changed it from the factory 11111 or 12345, to what I THOUGHT I would remember, but 36 guesses later, still can't figure it out (wrote down previous attempts to try and not guess the same 10 numbers). I have both key FOBs, they both worked before I left and I even changed the batteries in those to be sure they were new too, still wants the PIN. Is there any way to force the bike to search for the FOB after entering a wrong PIN? I literally have the FOB sitting on the seat so it's not like it not within range. Any ideas (besides trailering to dealer) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Try flipping the fob battery over. It is real easy to put it in upside down.
YOU WIN! Not sure what I was thinking when I was putting them in (likely wasn't), but both were put in upside down. I literally NEVER would have thought of that.
Thanks all for the suggestions, I HAD an easy to remember number, but apparently I entered it wrong. I was one digit off when I put it in a few years ago. Retrieved it once I got the fobs working this morning and promptly fixed it!
Because of your post, I finally got around to doing my wife's Sportster this morning. Reprogrammed the pin and replaced both fob batteries. So, thanks for getting me off my ***, lol!
