Extended brake lever install
I am getting ready to install an extended brake lever on a 2014 FLHTK. Some of the installation instructions and comments posted said that rotating the engine guard and/or removing front exhaust shield was required. Installers that used these methods indicated that removal and reinstallation of the cotter key was a PITA. I have attached a video clip that removes the front engine mount end cap to facilitate the install. It appears to me that this method would be simpler. Is there any reason why this would not be a better way to install the brake lever? Is there any concerns with using this method? Here is the link. Go to about 2:41 in video...
