I've been using meguiar's quick detailer for a long time. The stuff is great, and leaves the paint looking wet. Now that i have an RKS with black paint....everywhere, i want to try to preserve the paint as much as possible right from the start. I am not one to take a hose and a bucket to any of the bikes i have had. Spray on wipe off is all a bike needs unless you get caught in the rain and mud.
I have been thinking about having the bike professionally ceramic coated, which is the best thing you can do to any paint. It adds a second, even harder layer than the clear coat, and protects from scratches, chips, bugs you name it. I came across Shine Armor, which is a quick detailer and "water-less" wash. Spray on, wipe with damp microfiber, and buff with a dry microfiber. It has a ceramic liquid inside the quick detailer, which lasts 3-6 months depending on how often you ride and are in the "elements", and you can use the quick detailer as often as you'd like. It's OK to use on paint, metal, glass and plastic. For me just by reading reviews, and what i want in a quick detailer, this is ....IT. I ordered a bottle, and am waiting for delivery.
I haven't, but I want to hear your review on it! I used F11 recently and that is complete trash, marketing is a lie and I read a response from the F11 company and all I could comprehend was " i'm telling you lies about our product and you should give me more of your money and I wont give any customer service to you...."
Ask @eaglefan1 He has a lot of info on a lot of this stuff. I am actually wondering what to use after a wash to help protect the shine for awhile as well. Something that is not wax.

subscribed to this for the out come!
I'll definitely update the thread with a review after I've used it, and how it holds up. I'm doing an 800 mile trip to Niagara Falls at the end of next month, so I'll post an update after as well.
I contemplated using F11, but their details are very vague on the website. All they say is it's the best and you'll never have to wax again. Shine Armor actually says it has a silica ceramic sealant which is 20 times stronger than waxing, and is safe on all materials.

Have him put a section in here on what he uses/recommends. I pmd awhile back but I think they got deleted when I had to purge my mailboxes. He got me on the Wolfgang Uber train. I wound up watching a **** ton of videos on Autogeek as well. And, just like you, I have a black RKS as well. Mine already has some scratches tho. So I am thinking of doing a whole claybar thing, even tho I am nervous about it. But I know that he would probably say, clay, polish, seal. I think. I just am not sure at what he recommends. He'll come to this thread, I am sure, haha.
BTW, Niagara Falls is beautiful. I live about 90 minutes away and we go there when we have family in town. It never gets old. Enjoy.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the Wolfgang products too. I've researched many products to death, and I'm trying to find an easy way to do this. I love a clean bike, but I'm not a fan of the process. Some feel it's relaxing, but i just get back pain from all the bending down and squatting. I never used to cover my bikes while in the garage, but the RKS shows dust like crazy (as you know). I think the clay bar is definitely worth it if you have the time and energy to do it, and does wonders on scratches. If the Shine Armor doesn't work like it should I'll just have the bike professionally detailed
I've driven to Toronto, a couple of times, but never stopped at the falls, and never rode up with the bike. I hear it's a great little town, and right next to Buffalo. Looking forward to it. Going to hit a couple of bars, and the casino. A nice quick weekend trip.
I have a couple of Friends that swear by F11..I have never bought into it because of the cost Way to expensive. That is one of the reasons I am looking at this product for a third of the cost
