Bike won't start
I'm starting this thread for Monsterhawg who had trouble starting a thread himself and reached out to me directly. He contacted me because of my prior post about a Softail "breaker" and electrical problems.

Okay im about to give up on this site, you can do anything but start a new subject. ill try here for help. First I have to beg you al dont lead me to a fuel problem or a spark problem. My bike is a lemon, new engine, new carb new starter, solinoid, new just about everything. So i go to start it today , turns over like crazy, LOTS of juice, also im telling you now lots of fuel and lots of spark, its a 1987 electra glide, look theres blue great spark, cant miss it, theres fuel going to her , in fact you can actually spray all the starter fluid u want in the bike or pour all the gas u like in the cylinders, the fact is its not a fuel or compression or spark problem. cant be a weak coil cause its only a few months old as well. so, has to be electrical you say , ive gone threw the wiring from key to battery, everything is good. relay is fine, YES bought one anyways. good battery, good relay, 1987 so no fuses just one big old 30 amp circuit breaker, .My first dumb question of the day is will i still have spark and all lights and stuff if i screwed that circuit breaker???? Can that circuit breaker stop her from firing and only stop her from firing but everything else is okay. I cant stress to you all enough that the fuel, spark and compression isnt an issue so the first one asks ..Is she flooded??? i wanna pull my hair out of my head, for the last week yes the key was giving me problems, ran a toggle switch instead for the last two weeks, for main power before i hit the run button. cranks liek a brand new bike, no starter or solenoid or battery issues. Can my new coil be weak? could that be the only answer left????? old bike, simply built. all grounds seem good, everything reads 12,6 where it sghould, any suggestions or ideas guys... as many as possible please.

Thanks to you VALarry for trying to help this guy out. On a side note I responded to his original post about this problem, yesterday. I just visited his profile and it seems his post has disappeared. So I'll try again. Install new, correctly gapped plugs. Pull the enrichener out, don't roll the throttle, and try to start. Everything to make it go bang is there. I suspect timing also. IMHO he came to this forum ranting and raving about a problem, his problem not ours. the crew here can help but one has to be a little tolerant of some. Good luck.
