If this has already been covered, I'm sorry. I just didn't feel like searching right now. So there!
Why did HD make a smoked LED taillight kit, probably one of the most wanted accessories recently, and not make it work with the most popular touring model (FLHX) the last 2 years? Instead they make some POS (IMO) illuminated windshield molding. WTF? Do they WANT us to buy aftermarket?
If anyone from HD is watching, I can retire from the military soon. Let me know when you are serious about selling products. Make me an offer.
DOT has a regulation about certain color lights being too close to each other. The FLHX light bar is too short to fit their requirements. According to the govt, on our short little light bars we have to have a red center light and amber turn signals. HD doesn't list the parts as fitting the FLHX because of the chance of it being suggested that they are encouraging folks to break the law. I know...I took the turnsignal/brake light converter for a softtail and put it in my Streetglide. Then I changed the turn signal covers to red. Just take a good look at the kit you want and there is a good possibility that it will fit the Streetglide, HD just doesn't tell you about it.
I think it's because the silly white license light is on top. That's why they mention not fitting with the license relocation kit. Just make a different cover for it without the light hole. I think I will buy one of those ugly a$$ victorys. There will be plenty of parts for those.
