My bike came with the stock 20” windshield. I didn’t leave it on long enough to tell if buffeting was an issue because I wanted a shorter shield to look over instead of through. I replaced it with a 16” Klock Werks Flare and had buffeting from wind coming under the shield and up on either side of the tank. The fangs mentioned above (I used the HD fork wind deflectors) took care of that and I have a nice pocket of air at any speed. I leave the fangs on even when I take the windshield off.

Those fangs sound like the way to go, the only concern is the heat. Do they cut down on the cooling of the motor?
I checked my local dealer and they have a pair in stock. I’m not sure on the looks but if I could get a nice ride behind the shield it would be worth it.

Some say they reduce the amount of air to the engine. While that may be true to a certain extent, I have used them on my last 3 Harleys with no problems. If they caused problems I don't think Harley would brand them and sell them.

I’ve done a lot of reading on them and most say they have no issues with heat. I’m going to pick a set up tomorrow if they still have them and check them out.

Bought my HD fangs for my 01 RK and it took about 5-10 minutes to install. They don’t look bad at all, they actually blend in to the large chrome front end. With the 18” LRS and the HD fangs I pretty much stopped all buffeting. Also, much less noise and wind behind the shield. It is a really calm ride behind the shield at highway speeds. It is so hard to believe that those things work so good. I wouldn’t be without them now.
