Default It's Been a Great Ride

Well, after reading daily for about a year about cagers killing us on a daily basis because they "can't see us", I decided that at 64 I want to live a few more years breathing with all my limbs attached.

It pains me greatly that I sold my beloved '09 Street Glide this morning but I know it's going to a good home where it will be taken care of.

The MC market place is flooded with used bikes for cheap, so I was lucky to get what I did for my modified Street Glide.

Don't know what my future holds for another toy but please guys & gals, ride as safe as possible because most cage drivers don't give a damn about your safety.

Been there Done that. Sold my 2011 RKC 2 years ago at age 63. Basically for the same reasons and also someone close got killed in a motorcycle accident. Totally his fault, but that's beside the point.
There are so many things out there that can kill you, so why deprive yourself of something you love. I'm recovering from stage 3 prostate cancer which luckily didn't spread. it's been a year since I had it removed and so far everything looks good. Still sweat out the blood tests.
Last week at age 65, I went out and bought myself a 2019 Ultra Limited. Everyone has to do what makes them feel comfortable. Hopefully you don't regret your decision. Good Luck.

Enjoy the next chapter! I know a few that have transitioned into the Polaris Slingshot world because they and their significant other can be side by side but still have somewhat of a bike experience and more comforts/protection.

Everyone must make a decision at some point as to what is right for them. At 60 I still love vacations and long trips on my Harley but find myself in town playing more on my other toy my 84 CJ7 that I restored. Good luck to you.

Good luck. Think about trikes. Stable, and stop much more quickly. More for the idiots to maybe see. Ken

That’s why I went to 3 wheels. I see so many accidents that would have been survivable or just a non issue had the rider been on 3 wheels.

Started riding in the mid 70's. A couple decades ago I thought they were after me too. Then I realized I was missing out and life is too short. I commute daily in a medium sized (1m idiots) city and my attitude is they are not looking for me so I better be watching them and anticipating the next move. No orange vests or snowmobile suits, but I do run brights all day and LED taillights. I missed out on almost ten years of riding and now I'm trying to make that up. I'm only able to get in 18,000 to 24,000 miles a year depending on weather and available time. Don't think I could survive without my "cycletherapy". I'm only 62 yo and kind of physically fit. If I can't physically ride (all I have to do is get it off the stand), I'll go to a cage. Three wheels is NOT motorcycling. Just my .02, everyone has to do what they think is right. Not for me to judge, just sharing.

Yeah, but wind, sound, and smell is the same. No other choice sometimes. At 66, still like the ride.
