Default Red security light

I have a 2006 Ultra and at the end of a ride I noticed the red security light was on and the speedometer and tachometer are jot working. It starts up and the key fob will lock and unlock the ignition but the light stays on and the two gauges don't work. Anyone have any ideas?

I would start by checking for error codes , post back with codes and go from there . I would think you have a wiring issue or possibly a blown fuse and would need to know what would have caused it . Have you done any work on the bike previous to this happening ?

I'm thinking it's a fuse. I went on a charity ride and remember using the horn a couple times and then it stopped working. Shortly after that I saw the speedometer stopped working also.

In the four hours since you posted the OP, and you think it's a fuse, have you checked the fuses?

Sorry Bone Doc, do I work too slow for you? By the way, it was a fuse.

Fuses blow for a reason. Would be surprised if just replacing a fuse solves the problem.

I agree. I'm anticipating that it may blow again. I'm also considering the possibility that this is a 2006 and the fuse may just needed to be replaced. If it blows again I'll look into things further starting with the horn wires. However, my experience is that if there is a short, most times it doesn't go away. I used the horn a couple times and nothing happened.
