Emergency flashers and security light

Why does the red security light stay lit after the emergency flashers have been turned off? It stays lit until the ignition switch has been turned off. Maybe it's always done that and I just never noticed, but I still don't know why it is. Any ideas?

Yea, I didn't think about checking for a code while it's lit. No codes otherwise.

I am having this solid red security light staying on but how do i pull the security code out to find what is wrong with my bike that you are talking about?
