Starter woes
I replaced the starter and battery on my 1998 Road King Classic,but when I put the bendix gear ,spring,and the long bolt with the tab on,the starter won't spin at all.I loosened the long bolt and the 2 starter mount bolts,and it spins ocasionally,but very slowly when it does spin.Not enough to turn the engine over.It acts like its binding up.Do I need a new jackshaft and bushing? I've tried to re align the starter,but nothing changes.What is the problem? I'm pulling my hair out over this one.Oh,the primary cover on or off doesn't change anything.
