Default Fox Front Fork Cartridges

I've read the Fox shock report, and am hoping I can get some feedback from anyone who has installed their fork cartidges.

NWTruck,
I had the Fox Cartridges installed in my 2014 Ultra Limited at Sturgis this year. I did both the front and rear suspension at the same time. It was a night and day difference for me. I can now control how my front end reacts under breaking much better and cornering seems much better, as well as just general ride. Before with the stock front end, the front end would really dive under breaking-and i didnt have alot of confidance at higher speed turns based on the way the front end felt -i was always very cautious. Im still cautious but i now feel much more confident in the turns and under breaking. I can still make the front end dive under very hard breaking but now i have a lot more control and feel much better about it. I know im able to take corners faster with much better confidance then before ---the front end doesnt feel as tentative to me--and it just feels more planted--hard to describe really--but i am able to take corners faster and feel better about it.. The ride with the front and rear is day and night over stock. Its the best upgrade i have done with the bike hands down. The ride home from Sturgis this year was alot more fun, comfortable and faster then the trip out. I have some experience with Fox Shocks ---i have them on my Polaris RZR Side by Side that i ride. The upgraded Fox shocks over the Stock ones on the RZR were the same day and night difference---and still going strong after 2 years of the Desert and mountain riding i do. Im looking forward to lots of miles out of my new Fox Harley Shocks.
I dont know if they have cartridges for your RK or if they only have a spring solution---i believe the Cartridges for my bike were just introduced this year. But you can double check and call them and verify. The team at Fox tent at the Ralley were very helpful, and a great bunch of people to talk to. They indicated that they were going to be working getting better known in Harley Davidson world going forward. I just know im really happy with the Fox products i have purchased from them. And would recommend their products to others.
Good luck on your research.

Nice review

Anyone else wanna share? I'm thinking of buying a set. Since they are somewhat inexpensive at 550

I’m curious too. Looking for a plush ride with no brake dive.

I have the FOX fork cartridges on my 18 RGS, (I run ohlins shocks) for the money they cant be beat, i have the heavy duty version and they are still a bit soft IMO. next time i have them off ill go with a slightly heavier weight oil, i will say they were a BITCH to install, getting the top cap screwed in with the heavy springs was almost impossible lol, Next time ill build a fixture to hold the fork and compress the top cap. but yes well worth the money IMO. for the record I'm about 6' tall and maybe weight 215. for touring they are excellent! just for more sport riding they could be a little more controlled. but yes i would do them again in a heart beat.

I was really struggeling between Fox and Legend, only went with Legend because I got a great deal on the Legend and my dealer had them in stock front and rear.
I dont think you will go wrong with either, Fox makes some great suspension products.

Must have been a really sweet deal to go that route. They are pretty expensive

If you are trying to get that from the fronts its a struggle - nothing is plusher than the stocks, its why you get the “dive” - -best compromise is save your money and just put a heavyweight oil in the front tubes...👍🏻

FWIW....

I used to either get the cap on on 1st try, or it seems I would have to fight through 4 - 5 attempts before I would get it on.... It got to be a pain in the hands...

Now I use a double headed (or double jaw) Bessey clamp, along with my fork vise... I get the cap on first time, every time, regardless of spring strength..

Don’t yell at me! I have Fox fork and rear set up on my Dyna. I know, it’s not a RG or SG. I do own a SG though! Anywho, the difference, like has been said, is night and day. I had my work done by a local dealer who was gentle with me! Lol. Rears are fully adjusting with a plastic non marking spanner wrench. Front doesn’t take the brake dive like factory springs but still soaks the bumps up. I’d recommend them. Again, this was on a Dyna but still have nothing but good things to say.
