Changing a Stator because of an oil leak is as stated a million times over...
“A bunch of BS”
Why not just leak it leak? How much mess can it really be? I have no problem replacing one based on age. Given than, I replaced one qt 55k cause primary bearing went. Been wanting to do my other at 80, just havn't had a reason. Been saying every winter will do belt.

Sure next time I really need to get in there I’ll switch it out. I got around 18k on my SE Comp maybe when that let’s go I’ll do the stator at the same time.
Until then I’ll throw a little RTV on it just to keep the garage floor a little dryer.
If yours is actually leaking that bad, I may considering ding something. I would get tired of keeping an eye on the oil. PIA checking the primary. Mine were just messy around plug.
I am still running stock comp on my 6 speed. Knock on wood, 60k.
I had a similar issue after our grand tour this summer. I got all worried about the cases, etc, then saw a post and U-Tube on how to tighten the transmission bolts where the lower exhaust bracket bolts to the cover. You got to be kidding me, Harley bolts the exhaust bracket to the lower two bolts on the tranny cover, yup!
The video showed me how to cut 1/2 the short end of a 1/4" long handled Allen wrench off, I used my dremel. Then reach up between the exhaust and bracket and tapped them tight.
i was leaking there but mostly near the front left corner, so no way did I think it was those bolts at first......but no leak anymore and I've piled some miles on.
I love the internet, some guy saved me a ton of unnecessary work and it took 1/2 hour to stop my leak, most of that was using the Dremel as I was too cautious the first time and did not cut off enough to reach up around the bracket and pipes.
Youtube Harley Davidson Road King Oil Leak Fix by Two Wheel Rocco, May 16, 2018. If I ever meet this guy, I'll buy his beers all evening.
Not sure how we got on trannies. My side door was loose on 01. When I took the spout off, which was blocking a bolt, I took a grinder to it.
I had an oil leak under the left front of the primary, in the back corner. I thought it was engine or primary oil, it was not. It was tranny oil that ran along under the bike and dripped just like it was engine or primary oil.
But it wasn't, so I posted this just in case this OP had the same issue.
And that hat is how we got to trannies. It was exactly on topic for the ops question, but you seem to think it is not, so be it.
