Honestly, that was my first thought is just soder some extra wire in the middle rather than paying $50 on wire extensions. Wondering what HD would say when they saw it though.
I would be concerned with the wires breaking where they were spliced and soldered as you're pulling them through the bars.
I assume you don't have heated grips? I'm showing I need to extend that also.
I had to extend the wires for the heated grips. If you're replacing the heated grips with new ones from H-D they will come with extensions. I de-pinned the connectors on the heated grips to make them easier to run through the bars. On the grip side that's a lot of wire to pull through...
