Default Road king bar tightening

Who ever said that it's easy to install headlight bezel is crazy.....that tiny washer and nut under the headlight bezel was designed by one cruel, cruel engineer,,, the Only way I was able to reinstall that washer and nut together was to superglue them together and then hold it n place while screwing it all back together,,,,, thank God it worked,,,handlebars are tight and headlight bezel is like shines new,,,,wish I had the money for the JW speaker type headlight,,, certainly looks like a great replacement...anyway,,,get some superglue handy if your doing any headlight removal work, ,,,,Gluing that nut to the washer is the way to go,,,,that or weld it...lol

Lol, I used a piece of scotch tape to hold.em together until I could get the screw to grab the nut. No mess, no struggle.

If we're talking about the same screw/washer/nut (to attached the shroud to the bezel).... it's pretty simple. Install the two bezel halves, but not tight together. Put the screw through the shroud and just start the nut with the washer in place. Holding the shroud over the bezel, drop the nut/washer through the opening and the place the two bezel haves tight together (with shroud in place) prior to tightening. No glue, tape or frustration required.

I have done this 3 times and since I have small hands, I can get them in there and get them started without much problem.. now getting my enormous **** around the wheel/fender so I can reach into the headlight bezel, well, that is another story.

I don't miss messing around with that POS design. The newer style Road Kings (mines an 09) has a little plastic insert in the handlebar clamp that just pops out and gives you access to tighten the bars. I have adjusted my bars three times on my 09 and each time its a 5 minute job. I did it on my 03 King and hated the world while I was doing it.

most of the time I use axel grease to temporarily hold things in place or together when installing. plus it eventually washes away. just sayin.

Not true. Like Bubba said just pop this plastic piece out and you have access to the 2 rear clamp bolts. Loosen and adjust then retorque. Done. A plastic credit card slips under easily to remove without scratching anything.
