I will be following along as I am planning to upgrade my camshafts this winter. I have been reading good things about the cycle rama 570-2. Hoping you post up good results with it. By the way I will be ordering from FM they are topnotch. Dennis
Looks like your bike is a Switchback? Are the differences between a 103, 103HO and 103 Twin Cooled going to matter in these tests? Or will the performance improvements be similar regardless which version of the 103 we have?
I like that they are using the same bike, and just switching the cams... Keeping everything else the same, should give a good comparison of the cams......
I would suspect that the differences between the cams would, for the most part, carry over to any stock 103 engine...

Yes, we are using a Dyna Switchback for our testing. All of the 07-later 103 air cooled A engines are identical with the exception of the 14-later HO cam which we are removing anyway, performance between the twin cooled version is generally +/- 2%. The Dyna does use slightly smaller throttle body than the throttle by wire touring models, for exhaust we are using our E-Series which works well across the board, and since we are using the same configuration for each test it will be a pretty good representation. Our baseline runs were pretty well identical to most 103’s we test.
This is what I have been looking for. Same bike same set up Woods 222 vs Andrews 48-57 Cycle-Rama 570-2 575 and S&S mr103. I am doing cams this winter.
Same here. Most interested in the EZ Start mr103, at this point. Getting my popcorn ready.
I have an 11 Limited sidecar rig and could use some stump pulling torque. Stock with Heavy Breather and full Rinehart exhaust with a FM Powervision.
I cant wait for the tests since i have pondered a cam change lately.
