Default Cam Cover

Anyone know what the little brass bolt/ plug is around the outer flange edge on my ultima cam cover? It spins freely with an allen key but doesn't come out. Constantly weeping oil.....

Never seen an Ultima cover, but based on the picture it looks like a plug for an oil passage. Stripped, I would guess. Does it look like there are threads before the plug?

No you can't see if there's threads or not, it's too close to being flush with the outside. I don't want to take the whole cover off until I know what it is. It doesn't seem stripped because it turns very consistent and free...... hope someone knows.

Thanks for the advice man

I have to say it, if it has a hex to be turned by an allen, it is not just to spin it. It has to be able to be taken out, otherwise it would probably just be blank. You might need to try and extract it.

Yea totally get that, it's actually round, an allen key just happens to grab it enough to spin it.

Could it be that maybe someone drilled and tapped this hole for some aftermarket something or other?

Yea that's seeming to make the most sense at this point. I'm going to just take the cover off and figure it out. Thanks for the input
