Can someone recommend the best tie down straps for your motorcycle.
I have always used the ratchet straps along with a really good chock. Luckily my chock is heavy duty and will hold the bike up on its own.
I've always found that no matter what I do, the straps end up loosening. Not all of them, but some.
I'm now looking at the retractable ones. The question I have will these ones automatically keep tension on the strap as you are travelling or do they just auto retract for convenience.
I did see once a strap that has a tensioner on it and will stay tight?

I agree with the tank straps. I use them with a harbor freight wheel chock, the one that looks kind of like the condor version.
Solid as a rock on my 2018 ultra classic.
I run the straps over where the fender attaches to the lower forks and do not compress the shocks.
I have the retractable ones when I bought my load all ramp. They are worth it. The don’t loosen up at all when strapped to the bike. I just put a zip tie around the handle for my own piece of mind (and to keep someone from messing with them). They are not a cheap strap, but worth every penny.
However, they are no longer listed on the HD website. You may be able to find them at your dealer if they have any in the show room. The HD ones are quality and I have used them for going on 10 years now with little shown wear.
I have the 2 inch set and they work as advertised. I open trailered a Street Glide 2000 miles at 70 - 80 mph through a lot of rain and I never could get another click on them when checked. They don't loosen up. Made in the USA also.
