It's been a couple of months since the Commander III became available, and I am thinking of trying out a set. If anyone has them with some miles, how are you liking them? For my '19 SGS, the out the door price is $522.
I just noticed the sticker on that tire is a Commander II, wish I'd noticed that while I was at the shop. But, the quote I got was for the III's so the question is still there......

I was looking at those tires myself, but decided to try the new Metzeler Cruisetec tires on mine. I managed to get 17K out of my Dunlops, so no complaints with them, but the Metzeler tires are more performance-oriented and so I wanted to try them out.
I’m gonna give the MC III’s a try when I need tires. I’ve been an Elite user up until now. I assume you’re going with the touring tire over cruising tire?

Does that price include installation and balance? If so that's a good price. A great price if your bringing the bike in instead of taking the wheels off! If they are better than the II's they will be great. I've ran the II's for years and just put a new set on in September.
I've only begun shopping today, but yes, I can get good prices online with free shipping and no sales tax. I'm not tooled up to install and balance them, so what I've found so far is that Cycle Gear will do it for $50 per tire if I remove the wheels and bring them in, which makes the quote I got today a little better than buying tires online. I appreciate your input though, thank you.
Commander III going on my Ultra front and back next time it needs rubber!!
I haven't run them before so I would be interested in hearing any comments on them also!!
What I have heard has all been positive!!

Yes, they do all the work for that price, $522 all-in. I had II's on my EG, and also put them on my wifes XL1200c, they worked great.
