Stopped by my dealer today, says to me, "I got bad news about your 07 FLHRS", meaning go test ride an 08 Bagger.
Now, EG Classic is already a step above my FLHRS, as far as comfort, but IMO:
1. In a subtle way, everything about the 08 is simply smoother & quieter.
2. Throttle by wire is like turning a radio volume dial up & down.
3. That IDC, whatever, sprocket cushioning really works, smooth, less clunk.
4. Brembo brakes stop NOW.
Throttle response seems a little crisper than stock 07's, felt close to my 07 FLHRS with Stage1 download, etc. I would almost guess there is a little more initial timing, as it also did not feel as hot as an 07 stocker. It was an 80 degree day in light city traffic mostly, and I mean I did not sense any heat issue at all.
The engine & trans seemed quieter, went down to 40 mph in 5 th., no clatter or ping.
Overall seems they fined tuned many aspects. Maybe it is just because it is an EG vs. my RK but I was very impressed. This 08 I could take home and leave dead-bone stock I think.
I am glad to hear that DCRANER. I am buying an 08 RG. I rented an 07 and thought it was a great bike. So if they fine tuned the 08 like you said,I should be a real happy man.

I think you will be very happy. Salesman at my dealer has an 07 Ultra Classic and is trading it in for an 08.
