ive used my propane torch to check for vacuum leaks around the intake previously to tearing the bike apart and found none. the case breather seals inside the rocker cover where all destroyed also, so maybe it could be the problem? im might reinstall everything with a different rocker arm assembly since i have 2 from a different motor.

the noise is there without the air filter installed, i might change the intake gaskets anyway just to be sure and rule them out.

i removed the whole intake the other day and did find one of the bolts loose, so it is quite possible that it is an intake leak causing it. im waiting on new seals and gaskets to come in to put it together but i hope you are correct. i may have just missed the leak with the propane when i was searching.

You may be able to pin point where it's coming from . I still think this sound is a vacuum leak ( strong suction ) . Have you checked your intake seals or injector seals ?

Another thing that comes to my mind , would be to completely remove the air cleaner ( not just air filter , the entire unit ) , including the breather hoses and run the bike . Just to rule out the air cleaner and its components .

ok, i got it mostly back together but enough to run it for a while to see if the noise was gone. i ran it for about 5-10 minutes and didnt hear any more of the squeal like before. im pretty sure it was the intake seals but i changed out the rocker arms on the rear cylinder just because i had another set laying around anyway and installed rocker lockers. waiting on a new fuel pump gasket because mine was torn, then i can actually take it out.

Like I said in my last post I believe it was just leaking intake gaskets. Since I found one of the lower clamp bolts loose when I removed the intake but since I had everything apart I changed out the whole rear rocker arm assembly with another one I had from another motor. And installed all new breather seals. Along with new adjustable pushrods and high flow lifters. I’ve put 50+ miles on the bike since and have had no noise.
