Default New clutch cable problems ***pics added for reference***

Installed 12 inch bars on a 2012 ultra limited . Everything went smooth and works, but the clutch cable wasn't long enough so I replaced it with the LA choppers for 12-14 inch apes. I think I did everything right, drained the tranny oil, pulled it apart and hooked it back up the way it was, and refilled it. It appears to be approximately the right length, but it's not working on the clutch lever. Even with the adjustment nut all the way out (max tightness) it's like the cable isn't even there. No resistance from the cable whatsoever. I assume something is wrong under tranny cover, but thought I would ask before I drain it all and take it all apart again.

The length of the cable relating to +6 or what have you, doesn't effect the operation of the clutch. It's the length from end to end vs the sleeve length. That's all figured out and manufactured in.

Are the ***** in the ramp like they should be? Have to readjusted the clutch inside the Derby cover yet?

i have not adjusted the clutch, but I have the derby cover off. I don't quite understand how this works. I can't get it loose for the life of me and I'm worried I'm going to round off the nut. It's already getting a little soft of me

Also, I didn't actually take the snap ring off to get to the *****, there was enough play in the old one when fully loosened to slip it off the "arm" inside there and reconnect (I read that up on here) but maybe it screwed something up by doing this ?

Even if you had enough play in the old one your new one shouldn't have been loose enough to get installed without removing the snap ring, I just replaced a worn +4 on my 2010 and had to remove it.

I drained the fluid and got the snap ring off. Reassembled it, this time without putting the cover back on, or new fluid it in, still nothing. I can push the cable from inside cover and it will move a little but zero tension, even all the way tight

May sound dumb , but did you make sure the ball ramp was pushed all the way back before you bolted it back into place ? Before you adjust the clutch , your going to want to make sure it is . There are a few great videos on how to do this procedure . Hope this helps you get it done .

I added some photos showing how it's now set up in the transmission cover and how tight the cable itself is. Still nothing. You guys see what I'm going wrong here?

Before you install the cover you want to have the " ball ramp " pushed all the way back ( pic doesn't show it pushed back ) You'll notice when you rotate it back and forth the ***** will raise and lower the ramp . The ramp needs to be all the way down before you tighten the bolts to the housing . Loosen the cable at the adjuster so you have an extra amount of cable showing , again , before you tighten the housing for the transmission make sure you push the cable inwards toward the tran to make sure the ball ramp is fully back . Hook up your clutch lever and then start tightening the adjuster , leave about the thickness of a dime for play between the lever and lever rest .

Hope this helps , I suck at explaining , but I did the best I could .
