I help my riding buddy with his '16 Deluxe and he helps me with my RK. Both bikes have ABS.
He's a mechanical engineer and has since bought a scan tool so we now use that to change the brake fluid on our bikes. We just hook it up to the bike and perform the ABS test. He also uses it on his cars, so it's paid for itself.
It can be done with one person with a vacum bleeder 2 people is always better though. The key is not to introduce air into the system if so get it out before turning the ignition on.
Another one man method that I have done forever. 60ml syringe and some 1/4 tubing. Hit the line with a lighter for about a second and it will push on easy and stay very well and tight. Push fluid from bleeder into the master cylinder slowly. When the master cylinder is full suck it out with another syringe. Then discard it, repeat until you are seeing clean fluid. When you have everything attached open the bleeder and squeeze the handle just a little. That will kick the tiny air bubble out of the bleeder value and into your tube and then it will float to the top. I zip tie mine to the bike for hands free operations. Always flush my own brakes and clutchs like this have for over 20 years. Quality syringes can be purchased at tractor supply company in the veterinarian supply area. For little money.
I used the handheld pump from Princess Auto several times, and it mostly worked. I did have problems a couple of times with dual calipers on two different bikes, getting them to bleed. This last time I did my Fat Bob last year, I used syringes and I'll never go back to doing it any other way. It works perfectly and simply because you're not fighting anything that you have to wait for. You just push fluid up from below, and everything is fine. You also don't have to worry about sucking air into the MC, so that's nice as well.
These are the ones I used:.MAXGOODS 50ML Plastic Syringe + 80CM Handy Plastic Tubing,5-Pack
