Thanks glasspilot, I've heard that newer models use some parts that are actually interchangeable with some automobiles... a 2006 heritage classic uses a Chrysler fuel pump according to a veteran rider and some sensors as well.

Unfortunately for me (unless I just haven't found the right post) this sensor was only used on old European Cars and use was discontinued at the same time that HD did... result = very hard to find... I read that the PF3C from MM (mine is PF4C) may work with some adjustment but it costs 4 times as much.... lets hope the shop is more resourceful than I am.

Get the sensor back, since it's a snap to clean it/reuse it, and your not going to find a replacement right now (S&S 55-5058 is the PF4C you need) ) for under $500.
Note, seller on Ebay right now that has a few, and the only ones that are not begin gouged for, would take a trip up to canada to pick one up from some one that has them in stock instead ( they will not ship it to the states since I already checked, and the reason that I did the write up on cleaning one, since it was my only option a while back).

So with sensor in hand, here you go to clean it and put it back together.
Note short version of the sensor clean up, is to remove the rubber back seal dust that collects on the resistor film to block swiper arm contacts as the rubber seals dries up, and tweak the arms so they are still making contact to the resistor film as the TPS does heat up from engine heat.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ignit...for-evo-s.html

As for resetting the TPS once you do have it cleaned,
Note, when it states to park the arm, he means all the way out away from center line of the bike. This will be a great point to start the High idle screw to start with, and you can tweak the High idle screw later as the bike is warming up, comes to full temp, to get the high idle to low idle to perfection.

I'm having problems finding a TPS for Jessica ( yes bike was named by the late previous owner and I kept the name to honor him) according to his wife the bike is a 1999 1/2 so it has some factory upgrades towards the 2000 model.

Attached are a picture of the bike and one of the place where the TPS goes.... any ideas which is the correct TPS for this bike.

. Post on the Evo forum. Several guys can point you in the right direction. Many will say carb conversion. My 98 Ultra with MM EFI runs just fine after some attention. If you have deep pockets, you can consider the conversion. Ken

I did see a site that had them over seas but I didn't save it because the other site was shown that looked promising. I just checked mine as it was ebay bought few years ago and it is still smooth I got a throttle body with the tps and everything for $65 back then, now I see they want that for stripped ones.

OP's bike is a twin cam. Not an EVO. 1999-2000 was a blend twin cam engine, and M&M EFI.

To the OP. You have four choices.
1) Find a suitable replacement, and set it up. You can also search Pinwall Cycles, and other salvage shops. Pinwall has a fairly large Ebay presence.
2) Swap out the EFI for a Carb. This will be more costly up front, but you won't be chasing down obsolete parts.
3) Swap the M&M EFI for a Delphi EFI system. This would be more costly than the carb swap, but much more tunable.
4) Install an aftermarket EFI setup. Big Bucks, and few who know how to work on them.
Pays your monies, and takes your picks.

The PF3c and the PF4C have different curves. You can get away with the PF4C on a MG, but strange things happen with the PF3C on a HD instead.

Granted if you do want to have the bike re-tuned for the PF3C curve, it's a option, but way,way over kill instead.

Hence will bank on your TPS, rubber powder filled from the back rubber seal going dry to collect on the inner resistor film, and the two sweeps just need to be tweaked a little more outwards to add a little more pressure to cleaned film resistor so it reading correctly. It take about 3 mins to pop the tps back cover off and remove the swiper piece, clean the film, clean the back rubber O ring section and dielectric re-grease it, and put the sensor back together. Hence saves what should be a $100 replacement part, but is costing now dam near $500 from the one guy on Ebay that does have a few in the states.

An again, Harley discontinued selling the PF4C a while back, so the source for the PF4C is S&S #55-5058. If you have someone up in Canada, they can get you one since they can have it shipped to them and get it down to the states, but the Canada company that do have them in stock, will not ship to the states (why the ebay seller that has a few , is price gouging them for $500 each.
