Default Ape hanger rise - internal struggle

I’m planning to buy and have a set of KST Bison bars installed on my 2011 Street Glide very soon. I keep going back and forth on what size to get though....either 12” or 14”.

I’m 5’ 10” and have longer arms than most people my height. I don’t wanna buy bars that I’m going to regret (i.e. doing 12” bars and then immediately wishing I had done 14” or vice versa).

Help guide me, oh wise fellow riders. Which of you are 5’ 10” with KST bars and what size did you go with?

I have 12" and wish I would have gone with 14". FWIW, cables need to be replaced with the 14's.
It's not so much how long your arms are, but your shoulder height.

I'm 5' 9" and went with 12" LA Choppers Twin Peaks...love them. 14's would have been too much for me.

Best thing you can do is set on your bike with your hands out to a comfortable position, then have someone do the measuring....height, width, and pullback. Guessing could become expensive....

Here do what I did.

Go spend $10 on some pvc and some elbows.

I slide one through in front of the tank so as to rest of the neck of the frame. The put an elbow on each end. Then I used different lengths to figure out where I felt comfortable. Once I figured that out I zip tied the pvc bars to the stock and then measured for difference.
