Cool guys thanks.
@NorthWestern You're right. I should have laid out more info. I have a 2020 RGL, I am 5'10, 30" inseam.

I guess I should have said that the screen seemed to push the rain right into my face.
Do the re-curve screens help with rain coming over the top? and if so, do they cause wind buffeting? I am really concerned about the buffeting. I will take rain to the face vs that. It was so bad on my 2013 goldwing that I had it for 8 months, 3 windscreens, wind deflectors and then sold it.

Fact of life and physics. The heavier the object, the less it will be deflected by air flow. A windshield that is chosen for looks (low) is rarely any good for bug and rain deflection. I am in the vast minority that chooses a windshield to look through, rather than over because of rain and big bugs. If it gets too dirty, I can sit up straight and look over it until the next cleaning. Even with the windshield that I look through, I still get rain on my face shield when in my normal seating position. As others have said, that is the way the world is.

On my 2016 Road Glide Ultra, I find that the top vent pushes rain directly into my face when it's open during rain. The stuff coming through the vent is much more painful than the rain that hasn't passed through the vent. The bottom vents also push rain at my face from a different angle when water is bouncing off the pavement. I find closing the vents helps quite a bit with the hard pelting rain. I usually switch over to my 3/4 helmet when it rains, and then I don't care as much about the harder pelting drops coming through the vents.

i have a 2019 rgs. i still have the ability to shut my fairing vents. i got caught in the rain, and with the vents open, the rain was being blown directly into my face. shut the vents, and it wasn't so bad. next time you get caught in the rain, double check where it is coming from. if you find it is from the vents, you can purchase the closable vents for about $150 for the set.

Rode to work this morning in the rain...cars broke. I haveca road king with a freedon shield recurve and it really doesnt do anything for the rain deflection until about 65mph ,above that and it pushes it right over my big ol head. Glasses still get fogged up though and that makes it tough to see.

I can only shut the top vent under the wind screen. 2020's dont have vents that close on the fairing anymore. All open all the time.
