is v 8.9 the one that pez recomends
Apparently so. I'm having good results with 8.19 and would hate to fix it if it isn't broken, but if 8.9 produces a better sound I'll bite. I'd like for someone to verify it's better, though, and why.
I had been running 8.19 and was have weird issues. Change FM station the station would change but the Station Freq and ID etc would still display the previous station. Shutting radio off/on would correct this. Also CD would operate weird as well changed to 8.9 and no problems! I usually do not jump in and change OS on the radio untill all "bug" have been corrected or I do not hear any issues here on the Board...............8.9 is working great!!!!!!!!! MyRide7
Is there a need to update the HK software if you are not having any problems??? Mine is still the same
the day I bought the bike (bought in 10/07) UC??
I have an 2006 UC and I am wondering the same thing do I fix what is not broken ? Or do I give it a shot and if I want to return back to where I was, how do I download or get back what I had that was working fine before I broke it ?????
The suggestion about listening to a CD is a good one. That is where I really noticed the difference. With the radio and my Ipod I didn't really notice that much difference until I popped in a CD.

I called PEZ a week ago to ask about adding an amp to mine. They were much better than stock but I just thought there should be more. He asked if I had updateded my radio and I told him yes. He suggested going back to ver 8.9 because the newer versions messed with the volume control. I went back to 8.9 from 8.19 and it did make the volume different. Now I run just over 1/2 volume at highspeed to get what took almost full volume before. Have not thought about adding an amp since.
I assume that 8.19 is the newer version and that 8.9 is an older version? If so, they really should have versioned it 8.09 and I guess there wouldn't have been any confusion. Picking up my 07 SG this weekend from the dealer so I'm curious to know what version is installed on it.
