Not really sure how to describe it, other than it sort of sounds like a belt on a car engine. I hear it once it warms up and it's only when the bike is moving. It starts once I begin to engage the clutch and continues after I have engaged the clutch completely. I'm not sure if it continues through other gears since other noises are loud enough to cover it up if it's there. I only have about 1800 miles on the bike so far. I know that is super vague but does this sound familiar to anyone?
2019 Roadglide with a 107. Stock engine other than vance and hines power duals header and arlen ness exhaust. It's been dyno tuned with a powervision tuner by moonshine harley.
Being a 2019 model.....assume it still is covered under warranty. Id find a dealership and have it checked out.
What it could be? Its tough to figure out a noise online....unless theres a huge percentage of people saying, I had that same noise, and it was the XYZ part.
oh yeah I know. That is kind of what I was hoping for. I've tuned it and replaced the headers so warranty is probably a no go. However, I'll take it in and have them look, I am just hoping to have some extra knowledge about what it could be going into it.
I would check the belt adjustment first. To tight or to loose ? Sometimes the belt rubs the outside of the pulley flange and squeeks or makes a chirp sound. when moving. Easy things first.
I believe " Hardheaded" has it right, however my roadking made a very similar noise and it turned out to be a loose compensator sprocket. Unlikely on such a new bike, but you never know. A good Tech can diagnose it.
The pulleys are designed to run to the outside when the bike is rolled forward and will run to the inside when rolled backwards. You can take a plain candle and spin the wheel while applying some wax to the edge of the belt. It will help alot.
