I just changed mine yesterday. My stock shifter pegs had LOCKTITE RED on them. I better redo the new ones. I didn't use any LOCKTITE on them.[sm=smiley12.gif]
Tell yah what, when I head up to Lincoln, Il. this weekend to visit wifes folks, I will look for it. Do yah think it fell off the first or second exit location. Will have the wife looking for it on the side of the road.
Give me your address and I'll send it back to you along with a bill for my blown tire
nice. thanks for all the offers of pegs. i didnt feel like i could get used to having no peg. been using that setup for the last 4 years. so today i spent another $50 on non-chrome parts for the scoot. then the first couple miles i was only using my toe to shift. im getting back to using the whole thing now.
i dont remember where exactly it fell off at. i was getting off the interstate to get back on highway 136 west and almost fell off the bike trying to shift. good times
I had mine on there for 20000 miles and never had a problem with it at all.
Just took it off this spring cause I never used it anymore........best thing I ever did. More foot room, easier cleaning of the chrome, and it looks better.
Mine loosened up twice but I noticed it before it fell off.
I found that putting a small amount of grease under the head of the bolt allowed me an extra 1/4 turn when tightening. That and blue loctite has cured the problem. Don't use red loctite as it may need to come off at some point.
