Im in the process of looking for new bars with risers I have stock ones now. I'm wondering how people with older Road Glides did it. Did you cut the plastics or just trim them to fit the bars. Any help is appreciated.
Well, I used the stock risers when I went to 12 bars But, I did consider yall risers and decided I would trim the plastic to about 1/4 larger than bar to allow for movement even though I have poly riser bushings, there is a little movement.
Anyone install bars on an older model Road Glide?????
yes I have a 09 glide and installed 9 bars over the winter I added 3.5 risers putting me at about overall height 12.5 inches and did not chg any cables but did re route some of them. Also I did have to trim the plastic piece for the new risers to stick through. Use a dremmel and take your time cutting its not hard at all and you dont have to remove a lot.

just go with taller bars in the first place then there will be no need to add risers or trim plastic, re use stock risers and cover. Only reason I added the risers is I should of went taller the first round and did not want to rewire new bars and purchase so I added the risers

I like risers so I can adjust things and change bars if I dont like the feel.
