Default What's this wire for ?

Yesterday I installed a ANBS after removing the stock air cleaner I noticed a wire hanging down not connected to anything and capped,I thought it might be a hookup for computer scan or something ,now it's just hanging there not sure what to do with it.

Take a look at the battery and see if its coming off there...it might be the connection for a battery tender...

I recall reading a thread a few weeks ago when this came up. This is a wire used for Non-US bikes and is just an extra wire. Try running a search as someone knew or looked it up and posted what it was for.

It's for an actuator that goes on international models. The wiring harness is standard on U.S. and internationals bikes. Just tie it out of the way.

According towhat I've been told, that is for Cali. models, part of the pollution controls, (Lord knows us bikers always leave a big cloud of black smoke when we take off, unlike those big clean burning buses and trucks !! )but i could be wrong.

Thanks for asking the question, I came across that wire the other day while cleaning up my new EGC and I wondered what it was for. Then I kinda fell into the the trance I've been in ever since I bought her, and went riding, again..

Good to know though, thanks for asking and for the answers.
