I listen to MP3 CDs 99% of the time. The CD playeris set to "Random". I can listen to 3 of 4 songs on a short ride (like my commute) and I swear 80% of the time I will hear 1 of those songs the next time I ride a short distance. I'm not talking about the last song that was playing when the bike shut off, I know that will be playing when it is restarted.
The CD holds 122 songs, you would think it would be a little more random than that.
They never are... drives me nuts to. whats the point of having 200+ songs on a CD when you cant hit random and listen to them all. Its like it plays songs 2, 36, 42, 18, 10, 72, and then repeats...
i asked some electronics place a long time ago... and the response, was something like random to a "machine" isn't the same as random to our brain....
random on a computer is nothing more than a mathmatical algorithm... of course there will be "patterns" that develop... my suggestion would be to get another cd with all the same songs in a different order on the disc... or quit using random... :P
I have noticed this a few times before. I took it off random and noticed there were songs on there I forgot about and I thought I had listened to the entire CD... Just another bug to work out of the HK radio! Maybe once the radio bugs are worked out MOCO will start on the tranny issues!

it is mathmatically impossible for a computer to be totally random... my pickup has built in mp3 also and a 6cd changer, i still have this exact problem... i wouldn't expect ANY fix to come from this... only suggestion i'd say is to "randomize" your playlist before you put it down on CD then play the disc straight thru... most reliable way to make it happen...
MY ipod has a non repat random on it, it wont play another song untill all the songs on the CD/ Playlist or whatever are played, its GREAT! MY current playlist is 200 songs, on my TN trip I heard the whole set 3 times, in about 1800 mi
I was thinking the same thing today on my ride...That's the issue with burning MP3/Data CD's. No matter what order ya burn it in, it always burns alphabetical. well at least mine does : (
