i can get a sweet deal on an 07 street glide that is the denim silver. The problem is, I HATE THE DENIM COLORS. Has anyone ever clearcoated a denim silver street??? i wanna see some pics of some clear coated denims. thanks
Yeah Ive seen one here in Reno... it was clearcoated then pinstriped in metalic dark red ( old school style) then clearcoated again until it sparkled....damn nice looking. Owner was like you, didnt like the flat finish.
I don't man....you sure it wouldn't wind up lookin like..Shiny blue-jeans?[:-]...I agree though..that color PROVES that the Harley Paint Dept. is smokin crack![:'(]
I heard a story of a dealer who couldn't sell the denim paint jobs so he clearcoated them and sold them as quick as they were dry!!

I think that's exactly what you said it is...a story..I mean think about it, people who buy the Denim color do it because they Don't want a clear coat look. Clearin it would be like varnishin a sh*t-stain to those who Don't like the denim...to each his own though...

No story, its the truth.Earl Smalls hd marietta ga, has done it to a blue and silver. The blue and silver are the same paint as pewter pearl and cobalt just without the clear coat. They had Terry Southern, a local painter that did some of the paint jobs for the biker build off series do them.
Yeah the dealers can't move the denim Street Glides around here either. Local dealer has two pewter and three blue. And those are the only SG's on the floor. One of the salesman said one of the blue ones has been on the floor since March. I can see some good deals being made to people who can get over the color.
I myself like the pewter denim. If I was in the market for one I would probably get one.
No ...The Pewter Denim is great....Why buy a flat paint if you don`t like it.
I have one and I love the way it looks............................................. ....................[8D]
