road glide test ride
I took a ride on a used road glide the local dealer had on the lot. I have to say that the wind management left a lot to be desired. ...lot of buffeting around the tank & coming up the neck of the bike. Comfort on the ride was great but the buffeting not so much. Just my opinion. FYI I have an 09 heritage softail.

I added the triple tree wind deflector and a bigger windshield and it is much better. I do agree though. When I bought my 18 I thought that I had made a giant mistake because my head was being bounced around from that tiny windshield that they come with. I would bet that this costs HD more money in lost sales for the RG than it does in cost savings from a smaller windshield. Anyways, ~$200 and it is much better.

Hate to say all touring have some problems and need help, in the wind department. All need adjustments.

Yes, wind management can be a real challenge, and there are so many variables. I had my '14 SG dialed in. I probably could have lit a cigarette at 70 mph, but I don't smoke. Now my '16 RG I have no helmet buffeting, but I get a lot on my arms because I have ape hangers.

I could close the side / lower vents on the 16, can not on the 19 only the top one. It might be a difference in seat / height of rider too although both were stock.
