nice bike. How much did it cost for the special order seat? How’s the comfort?

The Lepera is known to be a firm seat, that's why I did they base/foam program so I could ride around before committing to ensure I liked the firmness. I like it, I found the Mustang Vintage Solo was a bit too soft for me, esp after an hour. I'm also riding a road bicycle these days for exercise, and I have a newfound respect for the definition of a firm seat.

Regarding the cost, the Outcast w/ Backrest is $698, add in another $400 for the leather, plus some shipping back and forth between NorCal and Lepera (N. Hollywood) and we're now looking at a $1200-$1300 seat. Way more than I thought I would ever spend on a seat. I've got my Mustang Solo & Pillion just about sold for $250, so that will help a little. Definitely an extravagant purchase, but I've always wanted a brown seat and paint matched CVO style bags on my RKC, so mission finally accomplished!

I really have to get off this forum. You guys are making me spend too much money!

Went ahead and ordered Solo Monterey seat with passenger, both in black leather and single diamond, no gel. I was struggling with if I should go double diamond or single. Finally, I found a picture witha RG and exact setup what I was thinking. The dude at LePera kind of talked me out of gel. I don't do many long distance rides.

So, I basically my setup will look exactly like this, except I didn't go with back rest. The seat will be read around March 24th

I hear you on the money part, Lepera w/ leather isn't cheap, but I certainly love the way mine turned out. I also got the same guidance on the gel insert, they didn't recommend it with leather on my seat for how I plan to ride. It's plenty firm without gel!

It takes time, but I can tell you that I did get my seat 1 week early. The only issue I had is that they shipped mine with a black painted backrest bracket and I ordered chrome. Not a big deal, it's very easy to change and I'm happy to report that after a quick email I have the chrome bracket enroute and it will be here tomorrow!

I can't wait. Good thing we are buried in snow, so I have no reason to ride. Otherwise, days would be very very long waiting for the seat

I really like the color of your seat. I was toying with an idea of going with dark brown, but I chickened out. Just going to keep with the all popular vivid black and blacked out theme lol.

I rode about 50 miles on the RT 66 & all I can say is it feels great .
Yes it's firm , but in a good way . It's lower than stock & further back
than stock . Now I can reach the rear brake pedal a lot easier . I believe
I made the right choice . Now I've got to change bars & recover the tour
pack backrest to match .

Update: After much discussion, debate and time spent sitting in the garage (while it snows outside) my wife and I have decided to keep the Le Pera RT66 seat. Although not proven by actual miles, we believe we will adjust to the firmness and be happy with it. I’m counting on that because the seat, rider backrest and tour pak backrest are all heading south to be custom restyled in a few weeks. Serious investment but that’s part of the deal when the word ‘custom’ shows up.

I’m thankfully in FL through March and finally getting some miles in this seat. About 400 miles so far.

I’m liking the seat a lot, My wife though is not... Too firm thus far. We’re hoping for some forgiveness with break-in...
