I may be jumping from a Streetglide to a Road Glide. I’m really liking the looks of these new RG. Got a friend with a SG and his words were if you test drive one your going to buy it. I’ve been giving it a lot of thought but not jumping yet but my next bike will more than likely be a Road Glide. You guys and gals with RG how you liking it. I’m looking at going with a RG special blacked out.
It boils down to what YOU like and what YOU want to spend your hard earned money on. I'm sure I will get flammed here but I have tested 2 cvo rg's, a 2019 before I bought my 2019 cvo sg, and I recently rode 2 more at the demo truck, a 2020 cvo rg and a rg special. I do not like anything about the rg, this is of course my opinion but that is the fugliest bike I've put my rear end on. Everything about that bike is just weird to me, that whole fairing is just weird and odd to me. I know plenty of people who love them and would have nothing else, but for me, I can say thats a bike that will not be in my garage. Good luck with your decision sir, remember....it's what you want!
I put 45k miles on my 09 SG and traded that in on a 19 RGS. I never even sat on the RGS till after the check was handed over and the papers were signed. I have 7k miles on it now and for the first 2k I frikken hated it. I think I just got used to it enough that I just tolerate it. After getting 12" bars and forward controls on it, it got even better. That being said, IF I ever buy another new one, it will probably be another SG.
