They're so 2000 and sorta' gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I thought I would get in before the negative posts start but I got beat to the punch.

obviously they are not gay (opinions) or there wouldn’t be so many thriving companies producing products. Not everyone is going to like everything.

with that said XKGlow is the company that most are trying to catch up to. Totally app controlled. Can even be made to all turn red when you apply the brakes. (Safety feature) There isn’t a color that can’t be reproduced. Made in USA. Lifetime warranty. Most are under the tank to highlight the engine. You can also put them under the fenders.

I though that they are illegal to use while riding in some states .....but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure that some states prohibit them under cars while driving so the same might apply in some states for cycles too.

A lot depends on the colors since blue and red are usually for law enforcement.

The kit I got. Installed on my 05 Ultra. The 2 longest strips are on the saddlebag support, two under each side of the tank, One behind air cleaner plate, one under the horn, one of small ones on the engine guard in the center aimed toward the front fender and one on the engine seat heat shield on the right side. Integrates with the rear brake so they all come on red when I hit the brakes regardless if they are set on a different color or off at the time. Honestly that's where they get used the most. I also ran a bead of clear silicon along each strip to help keep anything from getting to the adhesive possibly causing them to pull off.

I like neon. It's good to be seen at night. Just stay aways from red and blue.

Michigan won't even allow blue dot tail light lenses. Seen them on a few bikes and older classic cars.Don't know anyone that's actually gotten a ticket, though.

I bought a set of leds off Amazon for $40 and installed them myself. This was three years ago. Multi color, strobes, flashes with music and will turn all red when brakes applied. took about 4 hrs because I'm slow and took my time.
Three years later and still going strong.

Some people might call them gay! As you can see above. But to me its a safety thing. I put a set on my bike that I got off Ebay. Don't remember the brand or the cost. Really don't care what anyone else thinks about the look. I ride to work a bunch at 4-5 am. It is dark as hell. I keep mine on green and turn them on every time I ride in the dark. It just makes me that much more noticeable to other drivers. That to me is well worth the time and money spent installing them.
