Long story short, I had the HD low profile solo seat with toast stitching installed on my '18 Street Glide for 8k miles. Loved the seat, perfect fitment. Fast forward to now, I tried a couple different seats on my '20 Road Glide, but decided I wanted to go back to the Low Profile solo seat again, albeit without the toast stitching.
I installed the Low Profile seat with stitching from my friend's Street Glide to confirm it was what I wanted (exact same seat I had on my '18 SG), then placed the order for the version in all black.
Upon install, I noticed the back ends of the seats are different. On the black version you can see the bolts that secure it to the bike, along with the plastic that sits on the plastic washers. All of that is covered by the back of the seat with the toast version. Am I missing something here, or did I buy a dud of a seat?
I have the exact same seat on my 16 RGU and it looks just like your new one... I just replaced the white retaining washers with some 1" OD black ones.

Well it's good to know others have looked like this, and I may have to go get some of those black washers as well!
Doesn't one of the seat manufactures have a mini bid that covers that up? I have the same seat
on order and would like to find something to clean this up as well.
I'm just confused why Harley would make the stitched version fit differently than the non-stitched version... Oh well, I like this seat as it is, I'll run it for a while and if it bugs me I'll switch it out later.
Go with a rubber grommet mount like mine has and avoid the screws all together; however, you'll still have holes in your fender, or get a new fender as well.
