The thing about polls is to help the OP make up his mind

This one I don't think so LOL

Finally found that thread. I am going with the Tour Pack full size, in the solo position. I like to carry full face and half helmets on the multi-day long trips. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-backrest.html

I will get both detach mounts, so I can put it behind the ol' lady when she wants to go

I need BOTH options. Can't be limited to just one.

Though I prefer the bike without a trunk, both in terms of style and handling, with a wife, there are times its a MUST HAVE!!!!

I went for a ride with some buddies and we ended up at an Amish country store. They had some awesome bacon. A 20lb slab came home with me. I was glad I had a tour pack on the bike instead of strapping the bacon on my seat with bungee cords.

I've done other rides to micro breweries and brought home a couple growlers full of beer.

Like I said on the first reply to the OP, I've never regretted having the tour pack on. And I have been very happy that it was on many times.

On my limited I have no plan to take it off ever. Lunch box full, face helmet, sena freewire. Just stuff that's needed on daily basis. If I took it off I would have to drive my truck and winter is long enough as it is.
You have the Post Rushmore style they have a little more room than the Lunch box and do look better. The Lunch box is unmistakable.
had both and once you get over the it looks cooler with out thing you be happy it is there.. You will never convince me the bike handles any different with or without. Unless you put 30 pounds in it and the strap another 25 pound on top.

No one has to convince you. Take a ride on a cuvry road with it on, and the do the same with it off. If YOU can't tell the difference, try second gear.....lol

It doesn't take much to change the feel of a bike. A few PSI in the tires, a few clicks on a shock absorber, heck new tires change how the bike feels. 25 lbs up high and in the rear of the bike could easily be noticeable.

But if you can't learn to compensate for 25 lbs on a 900 lb touring bike, who is the one that needs to take their bike out of first gear?

First you said...You will never convince me the bike handles any different with or without.
Then you post....."25 lbs up high and in the rear of the bike could easily be noticeable."...............

Nope, given this........I'm not getting into a pissin' match with someone who just randomly interjects presumptions I never made. Enjoy the ride
