I considered making mine removable just to clean, never did it, actually, I like the convenience of it on where I go.

Personally I have thought many times of going detachable. I like the clean lines look, of the SG, but, and a big BUT, it seems just about every ride, I use it. In summer, especially, the jacket and helmet go in there. I ride with armored mesh jacket in summer, and armored leather in winter. I most often wear a FF helmet, and have no desire to come out of a store to find the helmet that I left on my bars, is gone. So the helmet and jacket are locked in the trunk.

Like I said, I really like the clean look of the SG, but the convenience of the tourpak has kept me from spending the cash for the detachable kit. In addition, I read of guys complaining a lot about them getting loose and rattling. Although the detachable sissy bar on my sportster was tight as a drum. But it didn't weigh 50 lbs either.

Took mine off five years ago shortly after I got the bike. Sold it for 850. Haven’t regretted it for one second.

Sold the tp support rack for another 50 to somebody else. 👍🏻

Nope, given this........I'm not getting into a pissin' match with someone who just randomly interjects presumptions I never made. Enjoy the ride
You are quoting two different people there pilgrim..

Smitty901 made the first comment.

I made the second one. I mostly agreed with you that you can feel the difference, but on a 900 lb bike it's not going to matter that much.

So I'm not getting into a pissing match with someone who can't read.

I enjoy the convenience of the storage too much to take it off. Besides, if I didn’t want the truck, I would have bought a Street Glide.
