some poor guy made a mistake of calling "Ultra Classic" just "Classic" and people just piled up on him with stupid comments like "because classic was dropped from 2014 line up"
Two pages of rambling but no one really got to the core of the question rather than just providing decent answers.
So lets try again. we see a lot of comments about people buying Ultra limited rather than ultra classic...why ultra limited and why not ultra classic !!!
I agree with this - it seems that the logical step from my '09 Ultra would be a '14 Limited; not a Ultra.
If you don't care how bad the MOCO is screwing you then you've got it right! On the 14 Ultra Classic you loose the fender bumpers, the saddle bag guards, the CB radio and decent neck bearings on ALL of them, all for a price increase of $1500 over the 13 model. You DO gain linked brakes, better saddle bag and tour pack latches, a HIGH dollar headlight that will cost you BIG $$$ when the bulbs blow, redesigned lowers and a vent in the fairing. For another $1500 or so you can gain back PART of what was deleted from the Ultra by buying the limited. You still won't get the saddle bag guards or the bumpers, but you DO get the half assed liquid cooling system on just the exhaust ports. WHY did the MOCO not do the water cooling right and do the entire head and cylinders just doesn't make sense to me!
I'll put on my flame suit now and wait for comments!
The Limited has and the UC does not:
Larger 6.5 touch screen with GPS standard
Partial Liquid cooling
CB
Upgraded wheels
ABS with linked brakes standard
Tour pack rack
Security fob standard
I have been thinking the same thing. I do like some of the two tones in the limited but am Leary about the twin cooling. I can order a regular ultra for a extra $800 with the cb and GPS nav. I don't like the fender bumpers or saddlebag guards so that doesn't matter. My friend and I will be ordering two in January. We are just waiting out the first few months to see how the twin cooling does.
