Default 2017 SGS - Center Stand

My 2017 SGS has what I believe is the stock exhaust with Rinehart 3.5" slip ons and I'm looking to have an electric center stand installed when I get my air ride done. The question is that since the exhaust looks like a 2-1-2, with the 2-1 collector and a 'Y' after the collector to feed the left side pipe, is this the configuration that typically does not work with the electric stands? I've seen some true duals that cross under which absolutely look like they'll be in the way of the stand legs when they're up but I'm not sure if this config interferes or not.

If this configuration is the one that typically interferes with the electric center stands, I'd like to go 2-1 on the exhaust, removing the cross pipe and the left side muffler and using a plug or cap to seal off where the cross pipe is now. I've seen that the 2-1 seems to be a popular performance mod for these bikes so what is everyone using to cap the pipe? I searched the DIY thread and could not find any working reference to any cap people are using.

Thanks!!

When people talk about a 2:1 pipe they're generally not referring to simply removing the crossover and left muffler and capping it off, they're talking about a purpose-built 2:1 system.

If performance matters to you, Fuel Moto has tested those systems that try to emulate a 2:1 pipe by just eliminating the left side of the exhaust and found that they don't perform well.

Those things that come down at a light to keep the bike upright for those who may need assistance maybe?

I believe if your going to go with an electric center stand then you'll also have to swap out to air ride control rear shocks. The electric center stand just lowers then you need to lower to suspension of the bike to rest on the stand. The stand does not lower and raise the bike. I have a manual center stand and this does not require air shocks. You stand on the lever while lifting the up on the side bag bar and the bike pops on the lift. A bit less expensive, but more work required to use the stand.

I'm having the rear air ride installed next week to go along with the center stand so I should be good from that point. As far as the exhaust, I was reading through the DIY thread in this forum and there are many posts about putting an engine freeze plug into the cross pipe to block it and the left side pipe becomes a "ghost pipe". With stock pipes I guess they're also moving the left side muffler to the right side because it's less restrictive.

I'm not really looking for added performance from this, I just want to have the center stand working and not lose performance.

Not an expert on this, but I'd think that if you're gonna block off one pipe, you're likely going to lose performance.

FWIW I have the jnr fast up and was told by everyone that the ele center stands will work but they will hang down as they all hit the crossover pipe. I guess the only way around it is to side dump or cut and reweld pipe

If it wasn't for all of the speed bumps everywhere I wouldn't mind letting it hang down some but I worry about it getting hung up... I guess I could always air up the rear suspension when that's a concern.
