Last year I was experiencing all around electrical problems. 1st dealer replaced everything electrical and couldn't fix the problem. Ended up being a wire periodically shorting out.
Anyways, around the same time (coincidence?), my cruise control "set" switch would short out my rear lights (brake /signals), blowing the 15am fuse, and of course the cruise would not work.
I got my bike back at the end of the year and didn't try the cruise because they said they just fixed the wire shorting problem at the time.
NOW, when I push the "set" for cruise, nothing happens, however the fuse does not blow and lights stay on.
Anyone ever experience this. Not looking for answers that just say "its your switch/bad module/wiring", unless you have experienced this issue. I am aware it is one of the 3, lol!
I haven't experienced your issue with bad wiring but I have had my rear brake switch fail twice on my 08 that will not let the cruise set. You obviously know what the issues could be so your just going to need to start trouble shooting. Start with simplest first, the brake lights. Are they on all the time? Brake light switches usually fail on and will not let the cruise set. Turn the ignition on, don't have to start it and hit the brakes, does the brake light come on? Move on from there troubleshooting.
