The best hearing protection is to go to your hearing clinic, have them make a mold
of your ear canal, and they will order custom made plugs for your ears. This is what I am getting done. Offers the best protection, fits perfectly, and are comfortable for all day wearing. will cost about $150. Ask yourself; am I happy having hearing, or is going deaf worth
more then $150? Most insurance companies will cover the cost.
This is exactly what I did and then had my wife do the same. The are incredible when it come to blocking outside noise. I use them with the Sena wireless headset, but you can use them with anything that has the audio jack. https://www.starkey.com/hearing-aids...personal-audio
They were about $175. I had one do-over until they were right. Each time the hearing clinic remade the mold. Now when I need another set I can just call and order.
My wife and I have both been using Alpine for several years now. Im hooked on them. Wear them with half, three-quarter and modular helmets without issue.
I decided to protect my hearing and 'upgrade' my stereo at the same time.
Went with MEE Audio M6 Pro's and custom ear molded plugs. Now I am protected from wind noise and I can listen to my music at lower levels, instead of having to blast the speakers to death. I like the fact that they are fairly inexpensive and everything is replaceable, the cable, an ear piece, etc.
Ditto on the www.earpeace.com. Have molded ones and they are ok but, far better than nothing. Found these and they are very comfortable. I have the foam ones as well but these are my favorites. Unlike disposables, need to clean them. I still get noise in my helmet but boy, without hearing protection, the world is a noisy place.
After working in loud machine shops and as an apprentice blacksmith growing up, I'm able to simply put my hearing aids in a small case in my pocket and the noise disappears...
I've tried several and keep coming back to Hearos original. Yes, I do ride a full-face lid and I do plan on getting custom made plugs made at some point.
I've heard good things about http://instamold.com/consumer-products/ which is only 90 minutes from me. They do it all right there and you walk away with your new plugs.
