We've been using custom molded ones. They work like epoxy. You mix the two parts. Stuff in ear. Leave for 10min. Barn. Ear plugs for only your ear. My kiddos raced MX fro 3 to 18 with these. I wear them all the time now after developing tinnitus.wind noise is a bitch

I know this thread is getting a few months old, but my two cents: In-ear canal earphones. I've gone through foam and lots of other plugs, but these seem to be the answer for me. Plug into my phone and listen to some tunes. NO wind noise... Made riding a LOT more enjoyable for me...

I've been using the Milwaukee brand ear plugs I bought at Home Depot years ago. They were about $7 and they've been completely comfortable for me. The pack comes with 3 pair and a small plastic carrying case.

Being a self conscious, insecure old Marine, I opted for flesh colored ear plugs. They're quite comfortable and slow to rebound making them easier to insert into the ear canal. The best part is no one can see them!

The best hearing protection is the one you use every time. I wear foam ear plugs at work and have them laying around everywhere. You might get a couple more db’s reduction with custom molds but what happens when you lose them or forget them at home? I have foam plugs in all of my jackets and a few pair in my bike, not to mention the pair that I usually have in my pants pocket.

I wore ear plugs on the job, but never on any of my bikes... I've been meaning to try them, but it may be too late..

I had not seen this thread when I posted a couple of days ago a poll to see who wears ear pro, and who doesn’t. Also got some good suggestions on which to try out.

The poll stands now at 60% wearing ear pro, and 40% not. I’m definitely going to wear them on long rides and especially if any of it is on concrete slap or continued 65+mph. Passing trucks and other vehicles on the slap literally hurt my ears.

I've used Surefire for a few years now and find them comfortable to use and easy to put in.
