I have been using Mighty Plug brand ear plugs, and I am happy with the way they work, except when I try to use them when they are hot, they are too soft.
I am waiting on my new full face helmet to arrive, and am not sure about using ear plugs with it.
What brand of ear plugs do you use with a full face helmet?
I'm a pilot. When I used to fly smaller single engine planes (now I fly mostly jets that are much quieter) I preferred the little memory foam ones that you'd roll between your fingers, to make then smaller and pointy, then place them in your ears and hold them with your finger until they expanded. They worked well, were about 75 cents to a buck a pair and lots of different companies make them. Check out pilot shops, gun shops, some hardware stores.....I had them in almost every jacket or pants I wore. All the brands of that type are all good.
The best hearing protection is to go to your hearing clinic, have them make a mold
of your ear canal, and they will order custom made plugs for your ears. This is what I am getting done. Offers the best protection, fits perfectly, and are comfortable for all day wearing. will cost about $150. Ask yourself; am I happy having hearing, or is going deaf worth
more then $150? Most insurance companies will cover the cost.
Even with full face helmet you will eventually wear ear plugs again especially on long rides.
I wear earplugs with my job everything I tried I prefer the foam ones. You always have a clean set you use them throw them out. Granted I get mine from work and keep them by the dozens with me.
Foam type ones as posted above come in different sizes find the right one for yourself. I also prefer the ones that come individually packaged in sets.
I also can wear these in the warmer months (they are very firm when cold and kind of a pain to roll down small enough to fit in my ear), but they are not as comfortable for me for long duration as the Max Lite version. They seem to have a little more sound attenuation, though. Use them a lot for mowing/weedeating https://sps.honeywell.com/us/en/prod...rplugs/firmfit
