Police came and made a report. Dog owner recieved 3 citations. But he had no ID so who knows if he will even pay those. From the looks of him I doubt I will get anything out of him.

I had a simulator accident, but you came out worse. I was able to ride my damaged bike away after getting my wits back, so I am glad you are OK after seeing your pictures of the wreckage.
In my case I was on a county road at night and the full grown German Shepperd came out from no where. No owner was around. I guess we should assume that animals don't understand physics of attacking something that is faster and 10 times heavier.

I also hit and killed a dog, Fortunately I didn't go down as wife was on back. Unfortunately it was a neighbor that lives 6 houses up the cul-de-sac from me, and she was in the front yard at the time. She also yelled that it was my fault that her unrestrained dog was killed, then her daughter jumped into it also, which pissed me off, and I said some things that they didn't like at all, but by then I was pissed that I had to clean dog hair and guts off my bike.

Know it doesn't mean much but could have been worse, you at least managed to get off with no big injuries. Dog's owner is going to be a wash so make plans accordingly, even if you do the legal dance and get an award settlement there's no enforcement to make them pay up.
